Unique Product Of Nature:

Wood is a natural product. Each plank is different and has its own character and features. Natural variations in colour and grading and not only normal but even desirable for the best results. Although all of our panels are thoroughly inspected before, during and after production. So we only deliver the very best of what nature has to offer. It is the responsibility of the installer to check the suitability of all panels prior to adapting or installing them. In the very unlikely event that any defects are found. You should immediately contact your supplier. Wall panels that you suspect to be defective should not be modified or installed under any circumstances. We cannot take back wall panels which were used, sawn, coloured, or adapted in anyway for installation.

It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the site is suitable for the installation of the wall panels and that the panels are installed correctly. The manufacturer is not liable for defect resulting from improper or inadequate installation.

Preparing The Site:

Lalegno Wall Aesthetics panels should only be installed indoors. All exterior doors and windows must be installed and fully operational prior to installing them. All concrete, masonry and plastering works and other moisture increasing activates must be carried out and have had sufficient time to dry. At least 14 days before installation (and at all times after installation) the site needs to have a constant temperature of 15-24°C and humidity level of 40% to 65% to allow for proper acclimatisation.

If these ideal conditions are not respected cracks and crevices can appear and eventually the wall covering can start to bend or begin to show other defects. The moisture content of the wall that has to be covered should be checked using a suitable test method and all results must be recorded.

Preparing The Wall:

Lalegno Wall Aesthetics can be installed on various surfaces. For the best results, we recommend to attach them to a flat surface. Flat walls are ideal but not essential. A small degree of unevenness is acceptable. Generally the base surface should be clean and free of loose materials or debris. It must be completely dry and structurally suitable for supporting the weight of the wall panel and any backing.

Check that your walls are straight and level from ceiling to floor. Then mark a perpendicular line on the wall that you can use as a guide for a straight and level installation of the wall covering. Use a laser level to indicate the horizontal and vertical lines of your starting position.

Brickwork Walls:

Brickwork surfaces have to be structurally sound. That means that there are no loose parts or bricks. Brickwork walls must be free of paint, oil, adhesive, wax, grease, dirt etc. Any residue may be removed chemically or mechanically but solvent based removers should not be used under any circumstances. An efficient adhesion and finish can be achieved for most surfaces that meet general tolerance of masonry.
