Base / Slab: To conform to BS 8204 Part 1 1987 and should not deviate more than plus or minus 3mm under a 3m straight edge and to incorporate a suitable damp proof membrane.

Understructure: Lionvest Trading’s treated Acousticlay battens ……. Mm thickness x 45 x 1800mm. To be loose laid at ………… mm centres as approved by manufacturer. Ends of battens staggered. Laid end to end and lapped by 50mm.
Boards: Lionvest Trading’s Floors Pre-finished, tongued and grooved, ends matched solid hardwood flooring. ……………. Species ………………… grade …… mm face width x …… mm thickness x fixed / random length. Moisture content at time of fixing 8 – 10%
Fixing: To be secret nailed using 50mm portanails. Boards exceeding 100mm face width to be face fixed also at 250/300mm staggered intervals. See manufacturers instructions.
Finish: As delivered.
Site applied Finish: Factory finish to receive an intermediate 120 grit sand to avoid any adhesion problems. Finish coat of ………………. To be applied.
Environment: Prior to installation the moisture content of the subfloor should be 5% and decreasing. Moisture content of walls not to exceed 8%. Relative humidity to be between 40 – 60%, before during and after installation.
Expansion: A minimum expansion gap of 10mm must be left at all walls and fixed points. To calculate the required gap size, multiply the width of the floor run by 1.5mm. Gap to be left open and covered.
It is also recommended to allow for expansion between boards dependant on area size. Contact manufacturers for advice.
