THE MINHO GROUP
 

The ‘Minho Group’ was incorporated on 16th July 1990 in Malaysia as a private limited company, and converted to a public company on 12th February 1992. After restructuring in 1993, the group began to be listed with equity of 96 Million ordinary shares, on the main board of the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange.

Traditionally a Timber based manufacturing group of companies with logging activities, Kiln Drying, Preservative Chemical Treatment, Timber Mouldings, Plywood Manufacturing, Sawmill Activities and the marketing of processed timber products are well to the fore within the group structure.

The timber mouldings side of the operation is managed by Victory Enterprises Sdn Bhd. Victory produces mainly profiles for furniture and woodwork and has a production capacity of 10m linear feet per month.

Between all the companies in the group there are 171 kiln drying chambers with a total operating capacity of over 40,000 tons per month.

Besides the principle activities under ‘Minho (M) Berhad’, the ‘Minho Group’, under private investment, has diversified into property development and management and the manufacturing of building materials. In the last couple of years the group has also benefited from a partnership with our subsidiary company ‘Indah paper Industries Sdn Bhd’. Together we now produce all sizes and types of sack Kraft paper sacking – capacity being more than 25 million bags per annum.

LIONVEST CORPORATION (PAHANG) SDN BHD

In October 1994, the group acquired the ‘Lionvest Corporation (Pahang) SDN BHD’ for 190 million ringgit. Lionvest Corporation is principally engaged in logging activities, operations of downstream activities such as Ply milling, Saw milling, Kiln Drying and producing Timber Mouldings. The company is principally involved in the logging of about 45,000 acres of forest in central Pahang, as well as the operation of an integrated timber complex which includes a plymill, sawmill, kiln drying plant, chemical treatment plant and timber moulding activities. The acquisition of Lionvest has assisted the ‘Minho Group’ to diversify upstream in order to enhance and compliment the downstream operations within the group.

All the above companies are situated in Jalan Kapur in Klang and Jengka, Pahang, Malaysia, with a total built up area of approx. 235 acres devoted to the group’s activities.

Lionvest Trading (UK) LTD, established in early 1998, has been appointed sole agent under Lionvest Trading Corporation (Pahang) SDN BHD, and is to trade in Timber products both from our own supply from Lionvest and Minho Group manufacturers and selected independent manufacturers.

With productions sourced from around the world our product list is extensive ranging through sawn timber and mouldings, through panel products to both solid and engineered flooring ranges – most exclusive to the company within the UK and Ireland.
